Let's start with a wide-angle view of the BDH software.
The Better Day Health Medical Management platform is an incredibly powerful tool that is designed to meet all the needs of a busy clinical practice. A basic understanding of how the software works will help you see how all the working parts fit together to help your clinic run smoothly and efficiently.
Here's a partial list of the tools you'll be using in the BDH software:
- A powerful, integrated scheduling system that automatically transfers vital information directly to the patient chart
- An online patient registration tool that allows patients to complete registration before their appointment using a home computer or any mobile device, allowing the information they enter to automatically be incorporated into their chart for review by clinic staff
- Highly automated documentation and coding tools that allow providers to quickly and accurately document patient encounters, saving them valuable time every day
- An integrated billing system that automatically sends claims to our billing partner and clearing house, insuring quick claims turnarounds, lower rejections, and faster payments
- ...and much, much more!
All of these tasks are accomplished using a system of dedicated work areas called MODULES.
Understanding Modules
At the top of the Better Day work area you will see a series of tabs. Each tab represents a dedicated work space within the software that we call a module.
Each module contains the tools and functions necessary to perform the tasks assigned to specific staff members. Depending on their clinic role, a staff member may be assigned and have access to only a few modules or many modules.
For example, a receptionist, scheduler, or checkout person may have a very defined set of duties that only requires access to the Front Desk module. On the other hand, a Super Administrator or Administrator may wish to have access to most or all of the available modules.
NOTE: The Better Day Health (BDH) training program is essentially module-based, meaning that each section of training covers a particular module. This allows staff members to focus their training study on the specific module(s) they will be mainly working in. Super Administrators (SA) and Administrators are encouraged to be very familiar with all modules.
Now let's take a brief look at each of the 10 available modules:
Front Desk: This module has tools for scheduling, check in, and check out clinic roles.
Nurse & Support: Access to patient records and preliminary encounter documentation, including automated entry of vital signs and nurses' notes.
Providers: Access to patient records, encounter documentation, lab and medication orders, billing codes, and all other necessary tools for documenting patient care and visits.
Auxiliary: A flexible work space that can be adapted to the needs of your clinic to handle auxiliary tasks that may include document management, scheduling for clinic services like x-rays or casting, or other needed functions.
Patients: The Patient Dashboard work space that allows staff access to individual patients' records.
Billing: Information on billing and claims status that integrates with our billing partner and claims clearing house.
Messaging: The message center for sending and receiving various types of communication both within your organization and to external recipients. This includes emails, faxes, and interoffice messaging.
Delegate Manager: Allows authorized personnel within your organization to grant "delegate" status to individuals to allow them access to a specified patient's health information.
Administration: The administrative work space for CLINIC level tasks, including adding and managing clinic staff, creating and managing provider schedules, adding clinic exam rooms, and other related work.
Super Admin: The administrative work space for ORGANIZATION level tasks, including creation of new clinics within the organization, creation of dictionary items, and management of system settings and integrations with external software partners.
As you work your way through the training modules, you'll get the opportunity to get to know each of these modules in greater detail.
