The Appointment Patient Summary is a convenient way to review a patient's health records before beginning the patient encounter.
To view a patient's Appointment Summary, left click on the Summary icon in the first column of the grid to open the Appointment Patient Summary pop-up window.

Displayed in the Patient Information section you'll find the patient's name and photo, contact information, age, sex, and their primary care provider.

In the next section, you'll see the patient's Appointment Information. Here we see the Appointment Type and Subtype followed by the time and date of the current appointment. Next is the location where the patient is currently roomed and their chief complaint.
The next couple of rows let you view any comments made by the Front Desk and Nurse and Support staff. The Nurse & Support Narrative displays comments made by the patient when they completed their online Pre Check-In questionnaire. By clicking the Copy to Narrative button you can paste the patient's comments directly to your Narrative in the patient's chart. If the patient did not leave a comment, then no button will appear.
The last row of the Appointment Information section allows you to select and assign this appointment to another provider or other team member.
The next section lets you review the patient's last 5 appointments at your clinics. Clicking Summary lets you quickly view the appointment summary and treatment plan of that visit. Close that window by clicking on the X in the top right and it will return you to today's visit summary.
The following sections display information directly from the patient's health records from previous appointments, as well as new health information obtained from the patient's Pre Check-in questionnaire. Information about the patient's symptoms, review of systems, medications, allergies, previous diagnoses, and social history, such as smoking and drug usage, can all be seen here. Note that new information entered by the patient during the online Pre Check In is shown as not confirmed and will need to be confirmed during the patient encounter.
The final set of sections can be sorted by the record's age using the drop down menu. Please note that this drop down only filters the tabs below it, helping to find only the most relevant information. In these tabs you can find additional appointment summaries, previous imaging orders, assessments and documents, and the patient's family health history.
Once done reviewing the patient's appointment summary, you can close the Summary window by returning to the top and clicking Cancel or click the 'X' in the upper right and we're back where we started on the Appointments Grid.
