Version 2.5 Release Notes

Better Day Health™ version 2.5 is projected to be released on February 1, 2023. This release includes updates and bug fixes to improve functionality and overall experience.

 

Improvements 

1. Added relation between IOPs and Vaccines
2. Lab order tests are sent on separate messages only if checkbox 'Send Tests Separated by Dx Code' is checked
3. Added a new document type 'Free Form Letter' to allow generic letters in Patient Documents
4. Added the ability to view currently applied templates for each workplace
5. 'Performed By' field is now set as required for Castings Reports in the Casting queue
6. Added 'External Pathology Data', 'External Labs Data' button to Past Labs in Providers / N&S module
7. Lab order results are not provided as a document in the patient's medical record until it is signed by the provider

8. In the Auxiliary -> Pre-certification queue: Added 'Order Date' instead of 'Date Requested' column and updated functionality for future orders 

9. Dynamsoft Version v17.3 Upgrade

 

Bug Fixes

1. Fixed issue where patient insurances were being duplicated
2. Fixed medication 'Deduplicate' button functionality
3. Fixed server error upon Encounter Finalization

 

Improvements 

1. Added relation between IOPs and Vaccines

  • Adding the relationship between In-Office Procedures (IOPs) and Vaccines is most useful for clinics which administer vaccinations in-office during appointments. By associating an IOP with a vaccine, the user will no longer need to do the extra work of entering the vaccination information into the BDH Vaccination History grid or into LINKS if the IOP was already added to the appointment. 
  • To associate an IOP with a Vaccine:
    1. Go to SA -> Dictionaries -> In-Office Procedures 
    2. Select the desired IOP
    3. In the Edit In-Office Procedure modal, the new 'Vaccinations' grid can be seen 
    4. In the 'Vaccinations' grid, click the 'New' button
    5. Select the appropriate Vaccination code and 'Save' 
  • For a visual example of how to associate an IOP with a Vaccine, please watch the video below:
  • The following video demonstrates the workflow of adding a Vaccine Preventive Service (a Preventive Service which has an In-Office Procedure that is associated with a Vaccine) to the Treatment Plan for this appointment. For example: The patient is in the clinic today to get a flu vaccine which the staff member will administer during the appointment. The 'Flu Vaccine' is a Preventive Service that this clinic has set up in the Preventive Service dictionary.


2. Lab order tests are sent on separate messages only if checkbox 'Send Tests Separated by Dx Code' is checked 

  • If the 'Send Tests Separated by Dx Code' checkbox is left unselected, the system will send all tests electronically under the same order number and all dx codes added to the order will be associated with all tests. 
  • If the 'Send Tests Separated by Dx Code' checkbox is selected, the system will send all tests electronically under different order numbers to allow the user to send specific dx codes with specific lab tests

3. Added a new document type 'Free Form Letter' to allow generic letters in Patient Documents

  • Note: The clinic letterhead will be used for this type of document. The letterhead for a clinic can be uploaded by going to Super Admin -> Right Side Menu -> Clinics -> Select desired clinic -> 'Create/Edit Clinic' Modal -> the letterhead can be added or changed at the bottom of the modal by clicking the 'Change Image' button

4. Added the ability to view currently applied templates for each workplace

  • To view applied templates for certain days/date ranges, go to Super Admin -> Scheduling -> Timeslots -> click on the name/line item of the desired workplace

5. 'Performed By' field is now set as required for Castings Reports in the Casting queue

  • The user who performed the casting procedure is now responsible for filling out the casting report. The user has the option to complete the report immediately or at a later time.
    • To fill out and finalize the report immediately, choose 'Final' in the "Report Status" field
    • To fill out and finalize the report at a later time, choose 'Incomplete' or Preliminary' in the "Report Status" field. This will send the unfinalized report to the Casting Report Queue which can be accessed by going to Auxiliary Module -> Right Side Menu -> Auxiliary Dashboard. Only reports for which the logged-in user is listed as the "Performed by" staff member on the Casting Reports will display in this queue

6. Added an 'External Pathology Data' button to Past Labs in Providers / N&S module

7. Lab order results are not provided as a document in the patient's medical record until it is signed by the provider

  • This improvement was implemented to avoid patients being able to see lab result documents in their patient portal before the provider has signed them. With this ticket, a lab result document is not created in the patient portal until the results are signed by the provider. Once signed, a document is created.
  • If the clinic does not want the patient to ever have viewing access to lab result documents in the patient portal, please follow these steps:
    • Super Admin -> Dictionaries -> Document Types -> Select Desired Document Type
    • In the Edit Document Type modal:
      • If the 'Staff Only' checkbox is selected, documents in the patient's medical record with this document type will never be displayed in the patient portal
      • If the 'Staff Only' checkbox is unselected, documents in the patient's medical record with this document type will be displayed in the patient portal upon signature.

8. In the Pre-certification queue -> Added 'Order Date' instead of 'Date Requested' column and updated functionality for future orders 

  1. If Clinical Staff would like to create FUTURE imaging orders, they can select the desired future date in the "Order Date" field when creating an Imaging Order
  2. If Pre-cert Staff Members would like to filter the Pre-certification queue to see all past orders + orders up to 30 days from today, they should set their filters in the following way:
    1. 'Date From' = empty
    2. 'Date To' = [Today] button
    3. 'Show Future Orders In 30 Days' checkbox = selected 
  3. The following video gives an example of the entire workflow from the moment of Order Creation in an appointment to filtering the Pre-cert Queue

9. Dynamsoft Version v17.3 Upgrade

  • With BDH v2.5 release on February 1, 2023, Dynamsoft will be updated to v17.3 After this update, the new version of Dynamsoft should be installed to each machine that will be
    using the scanning functionality in the BetterDay application.
